W C T U December meeting promotes temperance drive
The Woman's Christian Temperance Union held its December gathering in the M B church parlors with strong attendance. Devotionals led by Mrs Emma Heath featured hymns and scripture on Christ’s birth. Plans for a Crusade anniversary day of prayer were discussed amid calls to address liquor issues and promote sobriety nationwide. Twenty six Loyal Temperance Legion members attended, and lessons on alcohol and tobacco harms were given.
