Sheffield scene reports watchman Sam K Webb aged 78 fell from a bridge linking docks near the P. L. mill as he walked the night route. A knife blade pivot caused the bridge to drop and a protruding timber knocked him eighty eight feet to the ground injuring both legs with multiple fractures.
Meadville reports that winter surveys will continue on the Pymatuning reservoir project in Western Crawford County. The notice confirms ongoing construction activity and planned measurements as part of the dam and lake development.
The State Water Supply Commission met at Harrisburg and decided to proceed with dam work if appropriations hold. Most survey work could be finished by May and detailed dam plans would follow. Some land options may be taken as borings and preliminaries are complete near Hartstown, Crawford County.
