Forest Co High School Destroyed in Turnete Township Fire

Tionesta Pa December 12 The Forest County high school building in Turnete township was destroyed by a Thursday morning fire caused by overpressure from stove vents. The two story frame school, built ten years ago, housed two rooms on the first floor and the entire third floor used for classes. Volunteers saved books but the high school records and equipment were lost. Estimated value around $4000 with $1100 insurance. Enrollment was about 100 pupils with 20 absent. Arrangements for the next session are being made.
