Corry Girls Named Good Citizens by DAR Chapter
Three Corry area high school girls were chosen for the annual Good Citizen Awards by the Brokenstraw Valley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Sue Grobholz of Corry, Wilda Yakish of Titusville, and Janet Linden of Spartansburg will receive medals and certificates in a formal ceremony. Winners are selected for dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism and may enter a state exam for further honors. top state prizes include 100, 50, and 25 in savings bonds and a chance at a $1,000 college grant. Grobholz holds multiple school leadership roles, Yakish is active in student council and church groups, and Linden is noted for scholarship and plans to teach mathematics.
