Cornell Dean urges economy drive at Farm Bureau meeting
W J Myers dean of Cornell University College of Agriculture urged the American Farm Bureau Federation to lead a government economy drive by relinquishing some of the money paid to farmers. He called for sharply reduced non-defense expenditures and warned against direct price and wage controls as inflation remedies. He also advocated stronger production, higher taxes, and tighter consumer credit. Beans were taken to Europe by early explorers.
