Harrisburg December reports a proposed salary hike for Pennsylvania public school teachers aiming to raise the average pay by about 600 a year. The Pennsylvania State Education Association committee on Teacher Relations backed higher entry and maximum salary scales to reflect rising living costs. If approved, the plan would reach 60,000 teachers and affect 1951 state education funding, with ratification by the PSHEA in late December before legislative action.
