Gas Supply Maintained for Emporium With Rate Increase
Emporium residents awoke to a severe winter storm yet received notice from St Marys Gas Co that gas supply would continue with a rate rise. Directors met at St Marys last Saturday as Dixon reported Island Run district met expectations and Hall arranged with another company to boost gas pressure. A notice stated that after December 20 1913 the gas rate would be 80 cents per thousand with a 2 cent discount if paid by the 15th each month.
