Action Delayed On Probe Into Lost County Records
County commissioners failed to act on contentious measures at a Friday meeting due to the absence of one member from illness. Tense exchanges between Commissioner Elto Blair and Helen Schluraft marked the session as they debated a proposed wheelicap on county tax records. Blair refused to second the motion, saying action required the full board, including Thomas Flatley who was at home ill. Reports indicated tax stubs for 1934 and an occupation textacular had disappeared from the building, fueling calls for immediate action for an audit.
