Mrs Ellis Hamilton was honored last evening at a birthday party at her home on King Street. The event featured greetings, gifts from friends, and a birthday cake with a salad lunch.
Catherine Corick, 29, of Prospect Butler county, was acquitted of involuntary manslaughter tied to an automobile crash that injured Ella Painter of Franklin and led to Painter’s death on October 3. The jury taxed court costs to the county.
W J Feeney of Russell testified in Crawford county court denying he struck Harold Munger last July on Fox Hill road. He said Munger first attacked him with a dinner pail, caused him to lose balance, then struck him again, leaving Munger unconscious down the road.
The Ladies' Fellowship of the Baptist church met at Mrs Charles Miller's home for their regular gathering. Roll call echoed verses from Romans 8 and devotions were led by Mrs L H Thomas. Mrs Rapa Carroll led the study, and Psalm 25 was chosen for memorization next month. Music included a splano and vocal duet, caral singing, contests, and gift exchanges. Refreshments were served by the hostess with help from Cora Joseph. The next meeting is planned for December 8 at the church, with an afternoon session to follow.
