An 18 year old Erie girl Barbara Hess died from a fractured skull after a two car head on collision on Route 55 two miles east of Lawrence Park. Ronald Ebert 18 and Bernard Schroeder 19 were injured along with LaBun Sawtelle 16. John Zippe 18 of Harborcreek was the other driver and also hospitalized. The coroner listed fracture of the skull as probable cause. The group included five people in the crash. Eisenhower heads to Augusta Georgia for the weekend.
