D. A. R. Chapter Holds Interesting Meeting
The Troken atraw Valley D A R chapter met at the Municipal Club with eighteen members present. Mrs. Banes and Mrs. Gitlin led the roll call. An informative paper on candles and lighting traditions was read by Mr. Macy L. Roetel of Lebanon, Pa, including references to Winthrop and early colonial lighting. Refreshments were served by hostesses Mrs. McCray and others. Members urged those due for 1928 dues to mail payments to 131 Lemon Street, Corry, Pa, by December 26. The next meeting is scheduled for January 4, 1923 at the Municipal Club.

Death of William J. Lewis in city home today
William J. Lewis died this morning at his Grand Street home after illness. He left a wife Mrs Ada McCullough of Bear Later and a sister, plus several nieces and nephews. Funeral services set for Sunday at 2 30 PM from 580 Grand Street with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. He was a well known resident with many friends.

Robbery in Jowa City Reported by Ibrie Man
A man from Slowe City was held up on a train near Garland and Jackson streets in Jowa City. He was robbed of $120, a watch chain and gold ring by two assailants who lured him to a vacant lot before escaping. Police, already aware of the incident, have no further details.
