Congress Eyes Setting Up U S Food Bank
Congress weighs creating a national food bank with about 1.5 billion dollars in grain and 215 million dollars annual storage costs as the Nixon administration and farm groups oppose the plan. The bill moves from the Agriculture Committee to the Rules Committee amid party and farm group support and possible amendments on loans and farm subsidies.
