Porter Draws Jail Term For Larceny
A gory area man pled guilty to larceny and passing a worthless check before Judge Elmer Evans in Erie. Paul Porter, R. D. 2. Corry, on parole from a New York State prison, was sentenced to one and a half to three years for the larceny and fined 100 dollars plus costs. He had stolen a 357 Magnum revolver from William Daniels at 475 Worth Street. On the worthless check charge he received three years probation and costs. Porter had been released from Attica State Prison after serving six years of a 10 to 80 year sentence for first degree robbery and first degree assault. New York has a detainer on Porter for return to Attica after the latest sentence. Titusville police also have a detainer on a worthless check charge. it’s unclear if either will be used.
