Wiretap Bill Laid Aside For New Assembly Okays Plan To Provide Private
Harrisburg AP The Shafer Administration bill to allow court approved wiretapping is unlikely to receive Senate floor action soon but public hearings may be held by the Senate Judiciary General Committee. The Senate approved a bill creating a Pennsylvania Higher Education Facilities Authority to aid private and parochial colleges with non religious facilities. The authority would fund construction through bonds, repaid by rent charged to state agencies. The Senate also adopted three resolutions, mourning former Senate Majority Leader C J Talman and creating committees to study general hospitals in coal regions and a point system for traffic violations.
