Hospitals Expand Aid for Alcoholics in Pennsylvania
A Pennsylvania Health Department study finds more hospitals admit alcoholics now, with about one third of the 117 admitting patients without qualification. Many facilities use special conditions such as emergencies or AA sponsorship. surveys covered around 300 hospitals in 1953 and 1955, noting growth in diagnostic and treatment options.
