Warren United Refining unveiled a new catalytic gasoline plant producing the highest octane gasoline in its area. Officials say the plant, the only East of the Mississippi of its type and the largest built here, cost over 1 million dollars and doubles capacity while using modern refining technologies.
Mrs Amanda Walker age 58 died Saturday at her Hare Creek Road home near Cutting at 1 PM after illness. Born October 8 1894 in Alden New York she lived in Tyrene Creek Township 30 years. Survived by husband Louis H Walker three sons Roy L Redmot Oliver Paul Redman Love pNell MY sue Lewis A Walker four daughters Mins Tea Belkeneys Whterfurd Ms Paultine Reichard Lockport Mrs Roth Kidder Townline and Mrs Purl Mayehl Alder New York two sisters Estelle Sullivan New York City and Mrs Mabel Campbell Erie 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Body at Spitzey Funeral Home Clymer with calling hours tomorrow at 2 PM Rev Gerald Dykstra will officiate burial in Cutine Cemetery.
The plant 5 operates on catforming catalytic reforming, a new advance in petroleum refining. After over a year in commercial use, the process stems from years of research by laboratories. Catalytic reforming upgrades low octane gasoline using a catalyst to boost fuel quality and motor performance.
Mendville police arrested 22 year old Donald O. Miller, an Army prisoner escaped on June 14 from Gump Gordon, Ga. He was found near Willow Street in Meadville with a stolen car from Augusta. Miller resisted and fled but was captured after a brief pursuit. Police held him for disposition by civilian and military authorities.
Funeral Mass held at St Thomas Church this morning at 9 30 for Mrs Anna B McGraw with Rev John as celebrant. Bearers listed include Francis Blair George Buck and others. Burial followed in St Elizabeth's Cemetery. Attendees included Helena Sawyer and Al Lawyer of Louisville Kentucky.
