Old rolltop desks and antiques sold for premiums up to 200 dollars as M. Jay Berliner, grandson of the original owner, sold the contents.

Injuries Light In Five Area Crashes
Three women were treated and released from Corry Memorial Hospital after a three car crash at the intersection of Routes 6 and 89 in Elgin Saturday at 1 p.m. The drivers involved were Betty M. Bartel, Margaret M. Sparks, and Susan E. Sturdevant. State Police said the Bartel car and Audrey I. Reid’s car stopped at Route 89 and Route 6 when Sturdevant’s car, westbound on Route 6, skidded on wet pavement and struck the Bartel vehicle, causing damage estimated at $2,500 to the Bartel car and $500 to Sturdevant’s car. The Reid car sustained $25 damage. A second accident on Canadohia Lake road near Union City, later that night, involved David W. Struble, who lost control at high speed and rolled over a ditch four times. troopers reported he was not injured.
