Harrisburg AP The Senate passed a 2.3 percent income tax after a two month budget fight. Gov Shapp will sign Tuesday. Five Republicans joined Democrats to push the bill 26 to 20 amid a delay caused by missing Philadelphia Democrats. The tax targets eight income classes while excluding Social Security and unemployment.

Two Youths Hurt In Mini Bike Crash
Two area boys aged 10, Todd Hunter and Duane Clark, are in satisfactory condition at Doctor's Osteopathic Hospital Erie after a mini bike crash yesterday near Mill Village. They collided with a milk truck driven by Elliott Smith of Waterford. no stop signs were present and both riders appeared to violate bike regulations.
