Dover Corp to Close Turnbull Elevator Plant in Millcreek
Dover Corp plans to shut Turnbull Elevator Co plant in Millcreek Township within six months due to duplication of operations at other facilities. The Toronto based company acquired Turnbull in 1966 and says about 25 employees will be affected. In Erie County, two men were indicted by the grand jury on traffic and resisting arrest charges. Frank L. Miles and David A. Buell faced separate indictments, while a separate crash near Route 277 caused damage and an auto incident on Franklin Street prompted police response. Captain Robert McCauley announced a Billy Graham Crusade bus trip from the Evangelical United Methodist Church to Pittsburgh on September 5. Minor two car crash on Sued Center Street caused over $100 in damage to both vehicles.
