City planners push Route 6 bypass and traffic changes
Corry engineers backed by Baker propose a Route 6 bypass from Columbus avenue to the fish hatchery and a Route 277 detour to ease congestion. A 50 000 dollar city funded plan would rework curves and add a Clinton street west extension to accommodate growth from Bank expansion and Fabrics Inc production. A 1961 1965 street improvement program could cost up to 150 000 with priorities set by the study. Three day parking survey shows little parking trouble though some argue for more off street spaces.
