County Refuses Corry Street Aid Petition For Funds
Corry officials lost hope for county financing after county commissioners rejected a city request for street maintenance aid. City Council had urged state gasoline tax refunds, but treasury limits blocked any new appropriation. Last year the county aided about $1,200 for East Smith and Sciota streets during a bridge project. About $2,500 is now spent on graveling, providing jobs for residents out of work.
