Papke sisters die in crossing crash near Sandusen
Irene Papke aged 30 and Virginia Papke aged 16 were killed when their auto was struck by an eastbound interurban electric car near their home in Sandusen. Their mother Mrs Albert Papke age 60 was badly injured and taken to Providence Hospital with doubtful recovery. The motorman and conductor were slightly injured as the interurban ditched. about two dozen passengers escaped unharmed.

Gulf Refining Co Faces Prosecution

Wilgus was shot to death and his wife wounded while the couple allegedly took corn from a field owned by John Milton Hays 50 in a wooded Fayette county mountain area.
