Lightning Strikes Tent Killing Two In New Jersey
Sea Isle City New Jersey August 18 Two people were killed and two injured when lightning struck a tent at Whale Beach during a severe storm. The deceased were Mr and Mrs Carl Somers from Philadelphia visiting friends at the tent colony. Also in the tent were Mrs Pat Newell and her son Rynett who were stunned by the bolt and treated for shock at Sea Isle City hospital. Edgard Carr sister of Mrs Somers and Miss Elizabeth Reed had left the tent to seek refuge in the Somers car nearby before the strike.

Four neighbor girls two sets of sisters died after an automobile driven by an intoxicated motorist struck them while walking home from a neighbor’s house.
