Man Struck By Car Injured Near East Springfield
Awe 14 Allen Hutchison 92 of 1128 West 28th Street was hit by a car near East Springfield Saturday night suffering fractures to both legs and possible rib injury. Doctors fear amputation. Driver A J Brown of Nickel Plate Dispatch was arrested on reckless driving and released on bond pending court. Hutchison worked for General Electric and was near the Mt Bristol storefront when struck while unloading roadside goods from his car.

Philathea Class Holds Enjoyable Meeting at Mrs Williams Home
Twenty one members of the Philathea class of the Baptist church met at the home of Mrs Tom Williams on East Frederick street for a business session led by president Miss Helen Westley. Plans were made for a prayer meeting on Thursday August 28 with committees appointed. Mrs WN Jones chaired the program featuring two piano solos by Mrs Barton Smith readings by Mrs F Westley Mrs F Fuller and Mrs W B Miller. The hostess was assisted by Mrs Fred Rosy and Mrs George Ward in refreshments. Mrs A A Yeardsley left for Jamestown and will attend the 52nd Gates reunion at Swamarica tomorrow.
