Rap Board For Dropping Teacher Posts
The Olean Teachers Association files a petition in State Supreme Court seeking to overturn 10 eliminated teaching posts accusing the city school board of arbitrary action. A show cause order signed by Acting Supreme Justice J. Richmond Page requires the board to justify not restoring positions. Donald Ehrhart, president and chief negotiator, held one post affected. The association cites bias against Ehrhart and the union. Michael F. Bergan represents the group in Buffalo. Negotiations remain at an impasse.
