Pa. Makes Profit On Plane Sale
Pennsylvania sells its turboprop plane at a profit of 550000 with Omni Corp paying 550000 for the 12 passenger Grumman plane, purchased earlier from North American Rockwell using Motor License funds. The sale may affect a Commonwealth Court suit over the fund use. Governor Shapp defends the need for a plane, while opponents argue the purchase violated the state constitution. Omai lends a replacement plane for 90 days before the governor uses a smaller Beechcraft nicknamed the Yellow Peril.
