Ambler Works On Mutiny On The Bounty Remake
Hollywood reports Eric Ambler has been writing the screenplay for a new Mutiny On The Bounty remake since 1959 minus a writer strike. Filming aims for Tahiti in October with Brando hoped to play Pletcher Christian as Ambler shifts focus to post mutiny events drawing from Pitcairn Island history. The writer notes his method avoids personal ties and draws on extensive research as he continues work at home with wife Joan Harrison. Also noted is the death of mathematician Oswald Yeblin, first Princeton Institute for Advanced Study professor, while on vacation.
