Gas Producers Can Increase Price But
Washington AP reports a federal appeals court cleared the way for a new price ceiling to take effect with a condition to refund excess money if the Federal Power Commission later upholds the higher rate. Producers must agree to refund if the appeal finds the ceiling too high or be barred from raising prices. The July 27 increase could raise average yearly residential bills by about $5.20 in Florida and $23.14 in Ohio, totaling $1.5 billion, and the court left merits of the FPC decision untouched.
