Increased tax collections aid Corry schools
Heavier than expected July receipts improved the Corry School Districts finances. Treasurer J K Dearing reported a start balance of 6207 45 receipts of 611 674 97 and expenditures of 14484 42 leaving 2398 22 in the treasury. 1937 tax collections totaled 6720 98 while delinquent tax totals included 1936 per capita 1078 12 property 1448 26 and other years. The sinking fund balance July 1 was 3586 80 with 2840 paid in July leaving 1245 80.

Storm hits Sparta area killing three dairy cows and damaging crops
