State saves thousands with new bulk supplies test system
Harrisburg reports a bulk purchasing and testing program slashes state supply costs by hundreds of thousands over three years. A $20 000 testing lab to expand the system will enforce tests on purchases over 75 dollars for health and welfare needs. The efficiency extends to textiles food and household goods with savings ranging 17 to 90 percent on prior piecemeal buying.
