Bursting Stars May Create Cosmic Rays
In a New York report Dr Pritz Zwicky and Dr W Jonaste of Mount Wilson advance a theory that bursting supernovae produce cosmic rays. Normal stars explode and shed mass as light and ultraviolet radiation while cosmic rays are projected into interstellar space. The idea, linking Milky Way origins to cosmic rays, builds on earlier work by Millikan and Compton. A separate Erie item reports Willis L. Seasor, manager of a print shop, injured in a hit and run while retrieving his dog from Waterford after a trip from Condersport.
