A 15 year old Red House girl Phyliss Mack died at Salamanca District Hospital an hour after a three car crash on Route 18 near Salamanca. Coroner Dr. William E MacDuttie attributed the death to a fractured skull. Eight others were injured including Corrine Maybee 39 serious case and Audrey Maybee 16.

Collision at Boutelle Corners Injures Three Drivers
Mrs. Sarah Kilmurray 38 of Salamanca and her unborn child were reported in good condition after a three car crash at an inverted intersection known as Boutelle Corners. Ronald J. Taylor 21 of Salamanca was taken to Veterans Hospital Buffalo with a severe elbow fracture. A two year old passenger accompanied Mrs. Kilmurray to St. Francis Hospital Olean but was not treated. The accident remains under investigation by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Department.
