Gasser Well Brings Record Daily Output at Scenery Hill
A gas well on the KC Wherry farm at Scenery Hill reached a claimed daily capacity of 12,000,000 cubic feet and was described as the largest ever brought in in Washington points. Drilled to the Stewart vein near Punnsylvania lines, it was first struck on a Thursday with an initial 1,000,000 cubic feet daily. Further drilling continued as the flow remained low. Arrangements were made to funnel gas into Peoples Gauge Company lines. A hearing at Erie yielded that the gas was bound over to the September term of federal court.
