An early morning blaze at Lakeside Assembly in Findley Lake destroyed the Kress cottage and another structure, forcing a North East family with a baby to flee in nightwear. Watrous Ends Work Against Corn Borer in Territory

A. L. Watrous, special agent for State and Federal bureaus, completed his fight against the corn borer menace in Wayne Concord and Union townships. He filed his final report after spearheading efforts since March 26. Checks to farmers will be mailed to offset costs, with some already sent. payments expected locally within a week or ten days. Mint Alice Mesvitigar of West Wayne attended events and left for Pittsburgh.

Michael Liebel Dies at 64 Former Erie Mayor

Michael Liebel 64 former congressman from the 29th district and Erie mayor died today in Philadelphia after a mental and nervous breakdown. A longtime power in Pennsylvania Democratic politics he had been at the Philadelphia sanitarium two years earlier for mental disorder.

Two suspects held by Chief Tipton were given a hearing before Alderman Porter and sent twenty days in the county jail on vagrancy and trespassing charges. The case involves conflicting statements as inspectors pursue the theft across Hyde Town, with the post office, store, and a gasoline filling station burglarized.

Barn Destroyed on Hare Creek Farm Sunday

Fire destroyed a large barn on the Alexander farm on Hare Creek road around 2 80 o'clock Sunday. Nearby barns and buildings were saved. the loft origin and spontaneous combustion were discussed as possible causes. No livestock were inside. hay stock was ruined.
