Grand Jury to Hear Kidnap Extortion Case in Erie County
Two local men, Richard P. Doolan and Richard L. Mallory, face kidnaping for extortion and firearm charges after allegedly abducting a Millcreek mother and her 10-year-old son on July 24. They were bound over to criminal court for a preliminary hearing following a three hour session with four witnesses including police. The victim Mrs. Joseph E Kaulis testified, describing the home invasion and the demand for $10,000 delivered to a parking lot near Our Lady of Peace Church before authorities intervened. Police later found a gun and mace in the suspects’ car and the victims identified them in a lineup.

State troopers seized four marijuana plants from a front yard in St. Marys yesterday. Three plants stood 58 inches tall with branches extending 18 inches, and one smaller plant was noted.
