The Terror of Peru and Other Books Review Roundup

Meade Minnigerode’s The Terror of Peru is critiqued as an odd, oblique narrative about Jules, a ship captain, with a gay yet sometimes confusing tone. Wings Over the Americas by Alice Rogers Hager is praised for historical detail and aviation perspective. Pamela Hansford Johnson’s To PAY For My Possessing is discussed as a dense, character-driven romance set in vivid backgrounds. The American Presidency by Harold J. Laski is commended for timely analysis of executive leadership and democratic direction. Time Exposure by William Henry Jackson is celebrated as a memoir of a prolific photographer and traveler spanning two centuries. The Last of the Bandit Raiders by Matt Warner and Murray E. King is noted for its raw western lore and preserved language.
