Johnson of North Center Street and her husband vacationing at Findley Tacks escaped serious harm when lightning struck a tree near the cottage and entered a bedroom during a severe Sunday morning storm. The window shattered and walls splintered but damage was not heavy and Mrs. Johnson is recovering from the fright. Nearby, a strike at Rumpus Ridge prompted onlookers to warn others before flames could spread. The storm was among the lake resort’s most severe in memory.
