Jamestown on Aug 1 Milton Minis Toth of 108 Water Street fired four times with a revolver at Joseph Druma of 824 Alp Street. Druma’s florist friends were present. Salvatore George alerted police. Officer James Trayes located Toth after a pursuit. Toth claimed intent to surrender and faces assault and weapon charges.

Jamestown August 3 Charles P. Moore 28 an accountant in the Boatlanding office of the Jamestown Westfield and Northwestern Railway was instantly killed by lightning while fishing with W J Swarts of Buffalo aboard a rowboat off Warners Station two hundred feet from shore during a heavy electrical storm. Swarts stunned but recovered and rowed to shore to summon help. Moore lived on Chandler Street with wife Iva Bemus Moore and a five month old son Matthew Bemus Moore. Swarts and Moore had rented a rowboat at Bemus Point and fished for muskalonge near Maple Springs before heading toward Tomax Point when the bolt struck. Swarts assisted Moore to shore but Moore was dead at the scene. Doctor Kellogg of Roman Point confirmed death.
