August Parla reports rapid border fighting as German Wank detachment blasts French lines with machine guns at sunrise. Ulans attack repelled with German gains, several officers wounded on both sides. A French aviator bombed near Nancy destroying an armored locomotive. Holland Sarros, a Paris aviator, allegedly attacked the German dirigible crew. Carlton Morrell, son of Mr and Mrs William Morrell of West Peasant street, was seriously wounded when a revolver in Thomas Steins hand discharged while a group of youths including Morrell gathered at the rear of the Boudreau home on West Church street.
