DETROIT July 80 Henry Ford defends mass production on his 69th birthday acknowledging its role in suffering yet sees progress in machines and inventions reducing manpower needs. He says people think more about helping themselves and calls for distributing industry to small towns for self-support. Ford muses on production, morality, health, jet travel, and hair tonic as he nears 70.
