A 15 year old, George Baker, was executed in Lafayette jail yard after a mob pressed for his death for the deputy sheriff murder. His 1 year old brother Ralph Baker’s death sentence was commuted to life imprisonment. Family members planned to travel to Lafayette as deputies moved George to the waiting car.
