Convicted Camp Lee Objector Sentenced for Army Refusal

April Alar Thomas of Vandergel Michigan was court martialed at Camp Lee Petersburg Virginia. He received 20 years hard labor and dishonorable discharge for disobeying a local board order to report for training. General Cronkhite later reduced the sentence to 10 years and suspended the discharge.

Sealed proposals for Corry sewer project opened in 1918

Sealed proposals will be received by the City of Corry Pennsylvania until 8 pm Monday May 6 1918 for the construction of a sanitary sewer along Plum Street to Treves Street to Bart Street. The work includes 340 feet of trench and 12 manholes payable at 12 inches. Proposals must be addressed to the city center and delivered to the municipal office.
