Firefighters fought the blaze about an hour to reach the trapped girl. the fire had not yet been learned.
Masked hooded men broke into Pearl River Courthouse jail and abducted Parker a 20 year old Black inmate awaiting trial for rape. Bloodstains show Parker dragged from a second floor cell to a curb where a car sped away. A large crowd searched the area and visited the rape victim’s home but found no clue.
John Gregory Feller, 23, a former Army sergeant from Manhattan, was seized after attempting to breach a barrier 200 feet from Fidel Castro as he spoke to a 35,000 person crowd in Central Park. Police described a bomb device with a fake vacuum cleaner handle, sealed ends, and fuse materials. Castro remained silent on the incident.
Two 16 year old youths Norman Dixon and Robert Pearson were arrested by state troopers at 9 10 after stealing a car and attempting to rob a market in Albion.
