Fire destroys hardware store and two apartments in Beaver Falls
A blaze in Beaver Falls, nourished by 4000 gallons of paint, destroyed a hardware store and two apartments in the business district yesterday. Fire Chief Ed Phillips estimated the damage and noted 75 gallons of lacquer thinner exploded after firefighters arrived, causing roof beams to collapse. Two other apartments were badly damaged.
