Moscow reports say Khrushchev will likely be re elected as premier in the open session of the Supreme Soviet. Tass notes stormy applause as party leaders entered. Four year old Bruce Faison was struck and killed while crossing the street in Jamestown. Driver John Dorsey, 44, of Jamestown, was northbound. coroner Fred Hitchcock ruled the death accidental. The boy was the county's first traffic fatality of the year. police investigate.
In Warren County near Youngsville a 10-year-old Warren County boy, Warren Causyty or Rex Jr., died when a tractor rolled forward from a barn area. The vehicle tipped into a silo pit, pinning him briefly. he suffered suffocation and head injuries. Sister Sandra Kay Rex witnessed the incident.
The three year old son of rock singer Jerry Lee Lewis drowned in a swimming pool at the Lewis family home. Elmo K. Lewis of Ferriday Louisiana said the child wandered from the kitchen where his mother and he were. A neighbor joined the search after the incident was noticed.
U S officials sped preparations for atmospheric nuclear tests in the coming days as the United States awaits a first blast in a new series. The USSR reportedly plans more tests, with hundreds of miles aloft possible. discussions focus on missiles with warheads and radar effects.

William L. Shick, 51, of Erie, was injured when his car veered left, struck a utility pole and fence, rolled in a field, and caused about 1600 in damage. He was hospitalized with a head laceration and multiple bruises as Corry State Police investigated.

The maiden flight of the high energy rocket is scheduled this week with a second booster test set for Wednesday and a British satellite firing Thursday. Sixteen hours after launch signals from Goldstone California will guide the Ranger 4 to a precise lunar approach as it nears the moon’s far side.
City police over the weekend issued eight citations for reckless driving speeding and failure to stop for signals. Two teenagers Timothy Coulis and David Stultz were cited after racing on North Center Street March 26 with Stultz seeking a hearing for alleged reckless driving. Officer Frank Carnegie took both license numbers and charged Coulis with reckless driving while Stultz faced charges of reckless driving and failure to stop.
The Supreme Court refused to block use of a tape recorded conversation between a federal alcohol tax agent and a bootleg whisky seller. The recording, obtained via an ear piece, was admitted in U.S. District Court in Atlanta despite defense objections under the Federal Communications Act. The Fifth Circuit and New Orleans Circuit noted the recording provides trustworthy evidence compared to eyewitness testimony.
Rear Admiral Wallace R. Dowd Jr retired died yesterday in San Francisco. He was born in Fort Smith Arkansas, and served in the Navy with a long career.
Westmarreland Calif AP two farm worker cars collided head on on a two lane U S 99 in Imperial Valley near the Salton Sea killing nine people including six members of the Urias family. The station wagon carrying Jacob Urias Vie troia and four children perished with Federico Gallego Medina and others in the second car.
