United Press dispatch reports Barley April 4 observing the eighteenth anniversary of Von Terpitz entering the navy and the First Lord of the Admiralty spending the day at his desk. German newspapers pay tribute as North Sea vigilance is noted and hints are made of future fleet contact with Britain.
About twenty five friends gathered at Columbus Avenue last evening to honor Mrs. Lou Deyo on her birthday. The gathering lasted a pleasant evening spent at her home with all attendees enjoying the celebration.
About sixty Upkota members sold tickets for the Dollar Dinner at the Armory next Wednesday evening and a canvass aims to push sales beyond one hundred. Ward committees report steady progress with Second and Fourth wards active while First ward lags. aim to recruit 150 to 200 participants and fill board of commerce and industry membership before the banquet.

United Press reports special train carrying the president's envoy left Vera Cruz for Mexico City to deliver firsthand conditions inside Mexico. The mission aims to inform Washington on interior affairs and influence future policy decisions.
Yesterday afternoon at Columbus the case brought by John Carlyn charging one Stevens with attempted assault on a nail spilt was heard before Justice Burton Carter. Stevens was held for the Warren County Court. Mrs Sofia Pearce of Columbus remains reported ill at her home. Miss Florence Crousman of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, came to spend the summer with her aunt, Mrs Lorestre Bowman.

Pavia April 24 La Ma tin reports that the American Swoboda held on German spy charges and for attempting to burn the liner Latourridastra has admitted his real name Schwind He says he was arrested for fraud in Shanghai a year ago and ordered back to Berlin by authorities.
Harry F Douglass a well known city resident was injured when the automobile truck he drove overturned on a roadway near Evia Wednesday afternoon. J S Cardot M Lynch and Donald Schriver, who rode with him, were also thrown out. Cardot sustained injuries and was sent to St Vincent's hospital. Douglass suffered bruises and Mrs Douglass returned to care for him. The machine was owned by the Erie County Electric Co where Douglass was employed.
Health officials from state and federal departments ordered the extermination of seven loads of cattle and hogs at the Fitch farm north of town after a foot and mouth outbreak. A seven by seven by seventeen foot trench was dug to bury the infected animals, who were killed and buried to prevent further spread. Officials cited efforts to trace transmission and promised reimbursement to the owner.
