Rehearsals for the two productions planned here during Muste Week with the Pix nutes of Penzance cast set for Monday and Friday evenings. Plymouth Motor Corp placed two new 128 inch wheelbase models in Detroit, a seven passenger deluxe sedan and five passenger deluxe traveler sedan, priced at 899 dollars.
Harrisburg April 22 The Democratic administration searches for a businessman with educational background to replace Dr. James N. Rule as state superintendent. Rule, a Pinchot holdover, earns 12000 annually and holds a constitutional four year appointment until May 28. The story notes several candidates while noting Rule’s support from educators and Democratic officials.
Louis Spagnola and Frank Gattuso were attacked in Westfield near Clark Street early yesterday. Spagnolo, 38 Pearl Street, was hospitalized with chest and abdominal wounds and a serious condition. Gattuso, 40 Westfield, was held on an open charge after receiving a forehead gash and facial bruising. A police hearing was set for this morning as investigators questioned a group of assailants.
Two motorists released from county prison on insolvency petitions had served six months each. Herbert Wagner of Conneaut Ohio and Edward Bissell of Girard were freed after investigators found they could not pay $130 in costs. Bissell, facing involuntary manslaughter charges related to a fatal hit and run on Ridge Road near Walnut Creek Hill, may not have the charges pursued if expenses linked to Charles Mikel’s death are settled.
In Clymer on April 21 the Twentieth Century cap held its final meeting at Mrs. L. P. McCray’s home with 16 attendees. Officers for next year include Vera Lictus president and Grace Spitzer treasurer. A five dollar prize was approved for the Clymer High school valedictorian.
