Harrisburg based PUC will hire Martin T Bennett and Associates in Washington DC to oppose a 26 million dollar rise in wholesale gas prices by Tennessee Gas Transmission Co. The case is before the Federal Power Commission with a conference planned in Pittsburgh on May 5 for coordinating legal and technical aid. Equitable Gas, Peoples Natural Gas, and Manufacturers Light face higher costs passed along to consumers.
A second youth died from injuries after an explosion of stolen black powder bombs in an automobile. James Aungier, 14, who lost a toe and sustained severe burns, died yesterday at Cortland Memorial Hospital where he had been in critical condition since the blast early Sunday.

Directors of Mead Park Association met last night with chair Avtiue Liz net ing reporting on pavilion work and weather permits for construction. Caretaker Clifford Long has not been notified of upcoming park activities and should be advised in advance. Directors present included Zilzneck Whistlesey Reed Edinger Windahl Liz Young Mrs Estella Wells and Hagel Merker.
The Corry Area Industrial Development Corp committee voted to recommend retaining the Pittsburgh firm Ketchum Inc to lead a fundraising campaign to attract new industry. Ketchum was among three firms interviewed. the CATDC board will meet soon to consider the recommendation.
Washington Sen. Humphrey joins Aiken Mansfield in urging President Eisenhower to protest repressive actions by Syngman Rhee as he weighs plans to visit Korea on June 22. Senator Humphrey argues for speaking on political rights while Aiken and Mansfield back the case for defending democratic freedoms in Korea.
