Franklin Alters Plan On Water Shutoff Policy
Franklin City Council revised its plan on water shutoffs after numerous complaints about billing. Affected residents include owners of rental properties and multi family dwellings. The new rule requires property owners or agents to notify the water office when a vacancy occurs to receive an adjustment. No charges will be made for starting or stopping water service and no retroactive credits will be issued for unreported partial periods. Quarterly bills remain based on water usage.
