Charles Congdon, 22, of Cayland suffered minor injuries when his car left the pavement one mile west of Garland and clipped a utility pole, breaking it off. Police say he was drowsy before losing control. Vehicle damage estimated at 150 dollars, pole at 100 dollars.
Gly City Council to meet in a special session next Monday to approve five appointments to a new Recreation Commission. Mayor Pred Kuntey will present the slate drawing from a large pool, choosing members based on fitness to guide the program. Corry School District will hire and pay working personnel with city funds aiding equipment. the city seeks $2,000 after a prior $900 budget. The program aims to provide a system of play for all.

Substantial costs include 70 000 for teachers salaries and 34 000 for a retirement fund bill received late.
